SHOWCASE>> Campers take to the stage at Riverside

Sep 15, 2018

he main goal of the Riverside Foundation for the Performing Arts 2018 Summer Camp is to provide free musical theater training to low-income and at-risk children. The training they receive is a strong vehicle that enables the participants to increase their individual self-esteem, to focus on their abilities and to develop an interest in the cultural arts.

The children participate in music (voice), choreography and acting training sessions. During the two-week camp, participants also rehearse for the end of camp Showcase, which is a live public performance held on the last day.

The camp’s sponsors included The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock’s Duff McDuff Green Jr. Fund, Union Bank & Trust, Stafford County, Stafford Rotary, Rappahannock Rotary, Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative, Spencer Devon Brewing and the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
